In this youth-led forum for sharing creative practices in social justice, members of the MCA’s Teen Creative Agency and the Few Initiative for Children host a conversation with youth, artists, and civic leaders who are actively working to make Chicago a safe city where young people can thrive. The evening features presentations by Sweet Water Foundation, A Long Walk Home, and TRACE (Teens Reimagine Art, Community, and Environment), and Territory. These groups use creative community and arts-based practices to address aspects of youth safety including gender violence, public space, and emergency response.

This event is a collaboration between the MCA and the Few Initiative. The Few Initiative for Children is a 501(c)(3) foundation that empowers disadvantaged yet visionary youth with direct and indirect financial support to overcome obstacles, inspire meaningful goals, and become leaders in their communities. The Teen Creative Agency (TCA) is the MCA’s intensive creative youth program, which works to make the museum a platform for youth voices from all over the city. TCA and the Few Initiative were both founded on a belief that young people have the agency and vision to be critical, creative leaders today.
